CCSA Announces Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Davidson’s Lindsey Martin has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Florida Gulf Coast’s Karmin McNamara has been named the CCSA Women’s Diver of the Week for meets competed Nov. 30-Dec. 6, it was announced today by the League.
Martin, a junior from Dalton, Ga., was named Swimmer of the Meet for her performance at the Nike Invitational at Kenyon College this past weekend. Martin earned three individual event victories, including a Conference-leading NCCA B Qualifying 50.17 in the 100 freestyle. She also won the 50 freestyle (23.48) and the 200 freestyle (1:52.05) during the competition. Martin’s weekend also included stellar performances during the relay events. She anchored the 200 freestyle relay to victory with a split of 22.82 seconds, and posted an event best 1:51.87 split in the 800 freestyle relay. Martin anchored the 400 freestyle relay to a runner-up position with her split time of 49.92 to conclude the competition.
McNamara, a junior from Tampa, Fla., helped the Eagles to a solid second-place finish at the Miami (OH) Invitational this past weekend. Her performances helped FGCU hold off a field that featured schools from major Division I conferences as well as some of the nation’s top Division III schools. In the 3-meter dive, McNamara took home sixth-place with a total score of 260.35, while finishing seventh in Saturday’s 1-meter diving competition with a score of 258.25.
