CCSA ANNOUNCES MEN’S

SWIMMER AND DIVER OF THE WEEK

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Davidson’s Drew Onken and College of Charleston’s Peter Gibbons have been named the CCSA Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Oct. 12-18, it was announced today by the League. 

 

Onken, a freshman from Marietta, Ga., was undefeated on the day and led the Wildcat men with three individual titles in last Saturday’s meet against East Carolina.  He finished first in the 100 breast (59.70), the 200 breast (2:08.42) and the 400 IM (4:04.13).  He also combined with teammates Geoffrey Peitz, Miller Williams and Bryan Droll to win the 400 medley relay race in a time of 3:31.06. 

 

Gibbons, a freshman from Fairfax, Va., notched top honors in the 1-meter dive with 231.50 points and second place in the 3-meter dive with a mark of 221.75 against Old Dominion. 

 

Also nominated for men’s Swimmer of the Week: Matthew Sherrier (College of Charleston), Steven Caudill (Gardner-Webb) and Miguel Orellana (Howard).
