CCSA ANNOUNCES WOMEN’S

SWIMMER AND DIVER OF THE WEEK

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Davidson’s Emily Castle and Florida Gulf Coast’s Karmin McNamara have been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer Diver of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Oct. 26-Nov. 1, it was announced today by the League.

 

Castle, a junior from Grayson, Ga., took home two individual titles and one relay victory as her weekend was highlighted by a victory over College of Charleston.  On Friday against William & Mary, she swam just seconds off the Davidson record with a first-place finish of 2:08.13 in the 200 fly.  The next day against the Cougars, Castle finished with top honors in the 50 free with a time of 27.74, and swam on the winning 400 medley relay team that finished in 4:28.74 as the Wildcats knocked of College of Charleston, 151-89.

 

McNamara, a junior from Tampa, Fla., had a solid day on the 1- and 3-meter boards for the Eagles, as FGCU knocked off Florida Atlantic and the University of Tampa.  McNamara won both diving events, finishing first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 243.52, and the 3-meter dive with a score of 260.17.

 

Also nominated for women’s Swimmer of the Week: Jackie Kenline (Campbell), Line Lauridsen (Florida Gulf Coast) and Emily Turner (Radford).

 

Also nominated for women’s Diver of the Week: Linnea Buttermore (Davidson) and Katie Shaffer (Radford).
