State Farm Gives One Lucky Big South Fan A Trip To Orlando

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( -- Eric Brubaker of Lynchburg, Va., was selected as the grand prize winner of the Big South Conference's "State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway."  As the recipient of the grand prize, Brubaker received tickets, roundtrip airfare, and hotel accommodations for two to the January 1 Capital One Bowl Game in Orlando, Fla., courtesy of State Farm Insurance.  Brubaker was randomly selected from the six finalists for the grand prize package.

In its fifth year, the "State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway" began in September and ran throughout the 2011 football season.  Registration for the Giveaway was available at select Big South football games and on-campus events.  More than 1,500 people registered for this year's Giveaway and a total of six finalists were picked at various times during the season.

In addition to being eligible for the grand prize package, the selected finalists were also given the opportunity to participate in an on-field kicking contest during a Big South football game for a chance to win $10,000, also courtesy of State Farm.

The other five finalists were Kristy Cruz (Liberty University), Kinsey Turnmire (Gardner-Webb University), Bernard Glenn (Lexington, Va.), Gloria Harrison (Jefferson, Ga.) and Justin Porter (Winthrop University).

"The State Farm Bowl Giveaway was an exciting contest to win," said Brubaker.  "After attending the game I have to say that the game tickets, airline tickets, and hotel accommodations were top notch.  I was able to take my dad who is also a huge college football fan and we both were impressed with how smoothly the entire trip was.  I would like to thank State Farm and the Big South Conference for giving me this great opportunity."

State Farm is also sponsoring the Big South Conference "State Farm Basketball Giveaway," which began in December and runs throughout the Big South basketball season. The winner of this promotion will win a trip to the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
