Radford to Face No. 3 Duke in First Round of NCAA Tournament

In its fifth appearance all-time, Radford women's soccer will take on No. 3 Duke at 2:00pm on Sunday, Nov. 13 in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, announced Monday afternoon.
Ranked No. 57 by Top Drawer Soccer, Radford received the automatic bid in the field of 64 by defeating Campbell, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in the Big South Championship match.
The last time Radford matched up against Duke was in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, when the Blue Devils were ranked 15th in the country.  Lisa Lubke, then a freshman, made 10 saves in the game and tallied her first career assist.  Classmate Maryellen Derenda was also a part of that scoring play, earning her first collegiate assist as well.
Senior Megan Rhodes headed in the game-winning score in the title match off a free kick to send the Highlanders to the prestigious tournament for the fifth-time overall and fourth-time in head coach Ben Sohrabi's tenure.
In addition, the Highlanders received votes in the NSCAA Southeast Region rankings for the first time this year.  The Southeast Region is comprised of the Big South, ACC, Southern and Atlantic Sun Conferences.
