CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference has formally unveiled the official logo of the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Basketball Championships that will be used for the event over the next three years.  The logo was designed by Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based Studio303inc. in collaboration with the Big South Conference office, Coastal Carolina University and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB.

The logo integrates the purpose of the event -- the Big South Basketball Championships -- with the destination aspect of having all 23 men's and women's basketball teams at the beach.  It features a reversed-out Big South logo within a basketball flanked by palm trees and a large wave emerging from the bottom of the basketball.  The word "championships" is the main focal point of the trademark, with title sponsor "VisitMyrtleBeach.com" displayed underneath.

"We're so excited to see the Big South Basketball Championships logo unveiled displaying VisitMyrtleBeach.com as the title sponsor," said Brad Dean, President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB.  "Securing this event for CCU and the Myrtle Beach area over the next three years is positive for our community in many ways, and we look forward to seeing the logo -- representative of both the championships and the destination -- throughout the event, in the arena and on all merchandise."

The general public can expect to see the Big South Basketball Championship logo more in the coming weeks as college basketball season approaches.  The 2013 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Basketball Championships will be contested March 5-10 at The HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University.  Below is the schedule:
