Coastal's Schohl Earns CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Honors

CONWAY – Colleen Schohl of the Coastal Carolina University women’s soccer team has been voted a First-Team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III selection. She is now eligible to earn ESPN Academic All-American status.

Of the eight districts around the country, only first-team district selections are eligible for All-American status. All first-team selections will go into a national pool with voting to begin on Nov.5.

A native of Brecksville, Ohio, Schohl, a finance major, has had a standout season on the pitch for the Chanticleers. The senior has one goal this season, the first of her career; from her defensive midfield position as she helped lead the Chanticleers to a share of the Big South regular season championship.  Schohl anchors the defensive back line that has posted six shutouts this season with four coming during conference play and has shut down every attacking player sent her way.

Schohl is a member of the Coastal Carolina chapters of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key honor societies.  She boosts a 3.92 GPA as a member of the Wall Fellows Honors Leadership and Corporate Development Program and is a three time member of the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.  Schohl has made Coastal Carolina’s honor roll every semester with three President’s List honors and three Dean’s List honors.

Schohl leads the third seed Chanticleers into the Big South Tournament on Thursday for a showdown with sixth seeded Liberty at 4:30 p.m. at Radford’s Patrick D. Cupp Stadium.
