Big South Conference football continues this Saturday, Oct. 27 with four games.  Three League contests are on the slate, including No. 9/10 Stony Brook at Presbyterian College in the Big South's TV "Game of the Week" on ESPN3.  A printable version of this preview is available below and to the left.

#9/10 STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (7-1, 3-0 Big South) at PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE (2-6, 0-3 Big South) • Bailey Memorial Stadium • 1:00pm • ESPN3

THE SERIES:  This is the fourth meeting between the schools.  Stony Brook leads the series, 3-0.

SEAWOLF SCOWLS:  Stony Brook is looking for its fourth consecutive 4-0 start in Big South play ... The Seawolves carry a nine-game Big South win streak into Saturday's game ... SBU has outscored PC 131-45 in the previous three meetings ... RB MIGUEL MAYSONET is three touchdowns away from tying the Big South career record of 47 ... WR KEVIN NORRELL is 78 receiving yards away from 1,000 this season ... Maysonet (4,565) needs 57 yards to move into fourth-place in Big South history for career all-purpose yards.

BLUE HOSE BANTER:  Presbyterian College is looking to avoid its third 0-4 Big South start in four seasons ... The Blue Hose are playing a Top 10 ranked team for the fourth time in five seasons ... PC ranks third in Big South games in passing defense ... RB DEMARCUS ROUSE is one rushing touchdown shy of becoming the first Blue Hose player since 1978 with 10 in a season ... RB LANCE BYRD (2,476) needs four rushing yards to move into sixth-place on the Big South's all-time rushing list ... LB DONELLE WILLIAMS averages 10.4 tackles.

VMI KEYDETS (2-5, 1-2 Big South) at GARDNER-WEBB (1-6, 0-2 Big South) • Spangler Stadium • 1:30pm • Big South Network presented by State Farm

THE SERIES:  This is the 10th meeting between the schools.  Gardner-Webb leads the series, 8-1.

KEYDET KICKS:  VMI claimed its lone victory in the series last season, a 31-24 home victory ... The Keydets are playing their next two games on the road, the only time this season VMI will be away from home two consecutive weeks ... VMI is looking to snap a 12-game road losing streak, as well as end a 5-game skid in Big South road games ... The Keydets are second in the Big South in overall punt return average (10.0), as well as third in scoring defense and passing defense ... VMI also ranks second in the League in pass defense efficiency.

BULLDOG BITES:  The Runnin' Bulldogs are 5-0 at home against VMI ... Gardner-Webb is looking for its first home Big South win since Oct. 29, 2011 ... LB TANNER BURCH has posted six games with at least 10 tackles, and averages 14.2 stops when reaching double-digits ... TE SETH CRANFILL (30) needs two receptions to break the school season tight end record of 30 and five catches to break the Big South's single-season mark of 34 ... BO LINDSEY is the Big South's top punter (42.7) and GWU leads the League in punt return average.

  • This is the third meeting between the schools. Charleston Southern leads the series, 2-0.
  • A win Saturday would guarantee the Buccaneers their first home winning season since 2009.
  • Charleston Southern is looking to win three consecutive games for the first time since 2009 as well.
  • QB MALCOLM DIXON is 13-of-23 passing for 252 yards and four touchdowns in the Bucs' three wins this year.
  • In his last two games, WR LARRY JONES III has five receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

THE SERIES:  This is the 10th meeting between the schools.  Liberty leads the series, 5-4.

FLAMES FACTS:  Liberty is looking to start 3-0 in the Big South for a League-record sixth consecutive season ... The Flames are seeking their first win in Conway since 2008 ... Liberty has held four opponents under 300 total offensive yards this season ... The Flames have won 17 consecutive games in the month of October, and have not lost a Big South game in the 10th month since 2006 ... RB ALDREAKIS ALLEN is second in the Big South in rushing with 655 yards (109.2 per game) ... LU is first in the Big South in rushing defense (122.4).

CHANTICLEER CROWS:  Coastal Carolina last defeated Liberty in 2010 ... The Chanticleers have not lost consecutive home Big South games in a season since 2008 ... Coastal is averaging 266.0 rushing yards thru two Conference games this year ... RB JEREMY HEIGHT needs 38 rushing yards for 1,000 in his career and 153 yards to break the single-season school record of 1,166 all-purpose yards ... QB ARAMIS HILLARY has thrown a touchdown pass in nine consecutive games ... LB QUINN BACKUS is second in the League with 10.7 tackles.
