CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Longwood forward Kelsey McDonald has been tabbed the Big South Women's Soccer Attacking Player of the Week, while Radford goalkeeper Che' Brown was named the Big South Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played Oct. 1-7, the League announced today.

McDonald, a sophomore from Kennett Square, Pa., posted two goals and an assist to lead the Lancers to a pair of Big South wins last week.  Against Winthrop on Oct. 4, she put the Lancers on the board in the 21st minute as she found the back of the net off a through ball from Kelsey Pardue.  She later assisted on the game-winner as she found Kylie Dyer on the left side in the 93rd minute to give the Lancers the 2-1 win.  Three days later against Gardner-Webb, McDonald put in the game-winner the 25th minute to give Longwood the 2-1 win.  The award is her first Big South Attacking Player of the Week honor this season.

Brown, a junior from Manassas Park, Va., posted 12 saves in 180 minutes of shutout soccer last week.  She got her week started with six saves in the Highlanders' 2-0 win over Coastal Carolina on Oct. 4.  Two days later against Charleston Southern, Brown turned away six Buccaneer attacks to help Radford to the 3-0 win.  The honor marks her first Big South Attacking Player of the Week nod this season.
