Big South Announces Women's Golfer of the Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) -- Campbell sophomore Brooke Bellomy (Ona, W.Va.) has been selected as the Choice Hotels Big South Women's Golfer of the Week for events played the opening week of the fall season, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Bellomy claimed individual medalist honors at the Golfweek Program Challenge (par 71, 6,003 yards) and led Campbell to the team title as part of a record-setting team performance. She finished with a 2-under 211 (68-75-68) and won by three strokes in winning her first career event. Bellomy's 68 in the first and third rounds set her collegiate career bests as she also broke the school record for lowest 54-hole score. She tallied five birdies in the final round, including one on the par-4 No. 18 hole that helped Campbell set the school record for lowest 54-hole team score with an 860 (286-288-286).
