Big South Announces Men's Soccer Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - High Point forward Fejiro Okiomah has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 25-31, it was announced today by the League office.
Okiomah, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, put in two goals, including one game-winner, as the Panthers went 2-0 last week in League play and secured their first-ever Big South Regular-Season Championship. Against Coastal Carolina on Oct. 27, Okiomah put the Panthers on the board in the first minute of the match as he blasted in a rebound. High Point held on for the 2-1 double-overtime win. Three days later against VMI, Okiomah finished off a Shane Malcolm throughball in the 55th minute to score the game-winner in the Panthers' 2-0 win. The honor marks his second Player of the Week plaudit this season.
Also nominated for men's soccer player of the week for Week 9: Robby Joe Daniels (Coastal Carolina).
