CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - Stony Brook running back Miguel Maysonet (Riverhead, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Football Offensive Player of the Week, while the Seawolves Defense has been selected as Defensive Player of the Week for games played the fifth week of the regular-season.  Stony Brook kicker Wesley Skiffington (Brandon, Fla.) is the Special Teams Player of the Week, and Presbyterian defensive end Bryson Brindle (Acworth, Ga.) is The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week.

Maysonet rushed for a career-high 220 yards and two touchdowns in Stony Brook's 23-3 win at Army.  He nearly outrushed Army's high-powered rushing attack in the first half, as he gained 139 vs. the Black Knights' 144 yards in the opening 30 minutes.  Maysonet averaged 6.9 yards per carry on his career-high 32 rushing attempts, and gave the Seawolves' an early 7-0 lead with a 49-yard touchdown run.  He added a 1-yard score midway through the third quarter to make it a 20-0 SBU advantage.  Maysonet also tallied 12 of Stony Brook's 15 rushing first downs and had eight runs of 10 yards-or-longer -- including a 45-yard scamper during the Seawolves' second scoring drive.

The Seawolves held Army scoreless for nearly three quarters and did not allow a touchdown in the 23-3 victory.  Stony Brook's Dimitry Ross and Bryce Brantley both forced fumbles on goal-to-go situations, while the entire defensive unit held Army's FBS-leading rushing attack to 126 yards under its season average of 399.  The Seawolves recovered four fumbles, stopped both of the Black Knights' fourth down conversion attempts -- including Dan Mulrooney's stop on a fourth-and-one from the 4-yard line -- and permitted just 330 yards of offense.

Skiffington tallied 11 points on three field goals (27, 44, 25) and two extra-point kicks.  He was a perfect 5-of-5 on his placekicks at Army, and drilled his 44-yarder as time expired in the first half to give Stony Brook a 13-0 halftime lead.

Brindle made four solo tackles at Davidson, three of which were quarterback sacks for a loss of 29 yards.  He had all three of his sacks in the second half, and his second sack of the night doomed a promising drive for Davidson that forced a fourth-and nine at the PC 22-yard line.  Brindle's final sack came during Davidson's last drive of the game and quelled the Wildcats' final momentum.
