Big South Announces Cross Country Runners of the Week



CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( - High Point's Patrick Crawford and Audrey Malloy have been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the League announced today.

Crawford, a sophomore from Kernersville, N.C., finished as the top collegiate runner and third overall with a time of 24:38.2 on the 8K course at the Blue Ridge Open over the weekend.  His finish fueled the Panthers to a third-place team finish at the event.

Malloy, a sophomore from Pennsburg, Pa., stopped the clock at 18:20.8 to finish seventh at the Blue Ridge Open 5K last weekend.  As a team, the Panthers finished third.

Men's Honorable Mentions:
Felix Kitur, VMI - Ran the fastest VMI 8K in over 20 years as he finished third at the Queens Invitational with a time of 24:36.
Brian Gorwitz, Radford - Was Radford's top runner at the Blue Ridge Open as he finished the 8K course in 26:51.

Women's Honorable Mentions:
Michelle Church, VMI - Ran a lifetime-best 18:30 5K at the Queens Invitational.
Jennifer Klugh, Liberty - Finished 12th at Panorama Farms Invitational with a 6K time of 21:52 in Charlottesville, Va.
Teresa Williamson, Radford - Posted a 19:25.80 5K to place 45th out of 177 competitors to lead the Highlander women.
