Big South Announces 2011 Football Television Package

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference today announced that it will televise seven Conference football games this upcoming season as part of its annual League-wide TV package, the second consecutive season at least seven contests will be broadcast.  Overall, the Big South will appear on television a total of 23 times during 11 of the 12 weeks this season, and each football member will appear on TV at least three times in 2011.

The Big South's seven-game TV slate features three games on ESPN3.com, and two on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and WMYA-TV 40 in Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville, plus one simulcast on WMMP-TV 36 in Charleston, S.C.  In addition, Big South members will appear on Bright House Sports Network, CSS, RCN Cable, and Time Warner Cable Sportsnet this fall, while Liberty University's Flames Sports Network will broadcast nine of 11 games involving the Flames.  Additional telecasts may be added to the overall schedule at a later date.

ESPN3.com will kickoff the Conference's television package for League play on Oct. 8 with the Liberty at Gardner-Webb game live at 4:00pm from Boiling Springs, N.C.  Later that evening, MASN will televise the VMI at Coastal Carolina game live at 7:00pm.  Two games will air the following week on Oct. 15, as ESPN3.com will broadcast the Charleston Southern at VMI contest live at 1:30pm, while WMYA-TV 40 will televise the Gardner-Webb at Presbyterian game live at 2:00pm.  The MASN schedule also features the Oct. 22 Gardner-Webb at Coastal Carolina game live at 7:00pm, while ESPN3.com concludes its exclusive Big South slate with the Oct. 29 Coastal Carolina at Stony Brook match-up live at 4:00pm.  WMYA-TV 40 and WMMP-TV 36 will simulcast the Nov. 19 Charleston Southern at PC game live at 1:00pm.

The Nov. 19 Liberty at Stony Brook contest has been changed to 3:30pm to allow the live broadcast on the Flames Sports Network.

Meanwhile, two 2011 season-opening games involving Big South teams will also be televised.  On Saturday, Sept. 3, Liberty's contest at North Carolina State will be televised on ESPN3.com at 6:00pm, while Charleston Southern's opener at UCF will be televised on Bright House Sports Network at 7:00pm.  The full television schedule appears below.

In addition to the television broadcasts, the Big South Conference will again video stream all home football games live on its premium content website, the Big South Network presented by State Farm.
