CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - No. 12 Coastal Carolina forward Ashton Bennett has been tabbed the Big South Men's Soccer Attacking Player of the Week, while Campbell goalkeeper Ethan Hall garnered Big South Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played the first week of the season, the League announced today.
Bennett, a senior from Clarendon, Jamaica, posted two goals and an assist to lead the Chanticleers to the 4-0 win over League foe Longwood on Aug. 24. He got the scoring started as he assisted on a Justin Portillo goal in the 27th minute. Bennett's first goal of the contest came in the 73rd minute as he collected a through ball and found the back of the net. He closed out his night with a score from 12 yards out in the 84th minute.
