ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop Athletic Director Tom Hickman has announced that women's basketball head coach Marlene Stollings has notified him she is leaving Winthrop to accept the head coaching position at VCU in Richmond, Va.

VCU made the announcement Tuesday afternoon naming Stollings as its new head coach.

Hickman said that Winthrop will move quickly to name a replacement.
