Liberty's Phillips Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week
Lynchburg, Va. - After being selected the 2011 Big South Tournament MVP, Liberty defender Chris Phillips has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the week ending Nov. 13.

Phillips, a redshirt senior from Brownsburg, Ind., received the honor from the College Soccer News (National Team of the Week) after playing an integral part of Liberty's defense this past weekend, helping the Flames capture the 2011 Big South Championship.

The team captain has played in every minute of each of Liberty's contests this season. Liberty's defense has recorded a Big South-high eight shutouts this year and is allowing 1.00 goals per game this season.

Liberty Flames will travel to Norfolk, Va. to square off against the Old Dominion Monarchs in the opening round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship on Thursday, Nov. 17.
