CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Radford sophomore Nick Sayer (Hong Kong) has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while Winthrop's Riche Meade (Ashland, Ky.) has been named The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for matches played March 5-11, it was announced today by the League office. 

Sayer finished the week 3-0 at the No. 1 spot as the Highlanders faced nationally-ranked teams last week.  Against No. 38 Oregon on March 5, he defeated No. 122 Alex Rovello, 7-6, 6-4.  On March 7 vs. No. 45 Boise State, Sayer once again knocked off a nationally-ranked player, defeating No. 60 James Meredith, 6-2, 7-5.  He rounded out his week on March 9 with a win over Stefan Micov of Portland, 6-3, 6-1.

Meade tallied two singles victories and two doubles wins last week as he helped the Eagles to a 2-1 record.  On March 6 against Coker, he paired up with Dylan Comerford in No. 2 doubles to top Guillermo Aylon and James Corfield, 8-1, before defeating Billy Simpson in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.  In the second match of the day, Meade came away with a straight-set victory over Jovan Milic in the No. 6 spot as Winthrop edged James Madison, 5-2.  On March 10 vs. Furman, he picked up a doubles victory, pairing up with Comerford to defeat Joel Cook and Alex Christ, 8-5.
