Big South Conference football continues this Saturday, Nov. 10 with three League games, including Gardner-Webb at Charleston Southern on ESPN3 and No. 6/8 Stony Brook at Liberty on MASN.  A printable version of this preview is available to the right and below.

COASTAL CAROLINA CHANTICLEERS (5-4, 3-1 Big South) at PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE BLUE HOSE (2-7, 0-4 Big South) • Bailey Memorial Stadium • 1:00pm • Big South Network presented by State Farm

THE SERIES:  This is the sixth meeting between the schools.  Coastal Carolina leads the series, 4-1.

CHANTICLEER CROWS:  The Chanticleers have won the last four meetings with PC ... Coastal is looking to win four consecutive Big South games for the first time since closing out the 2010 League slate with four-straight Conference victories ... Coastal Carolina is allowing just 19.8 points in Big South games ... RB JEREMY HEIGHT has scored a touchdown in four-straight contests ... The Chants have rushed for more than 200 yards in four-straight games, averaging 253.0 in that span ... WR MATT HAZEL needs six receptions for 100 in his career.

BLUE HOSE BANTER:  Presbyterian College's lone win in the series was a 41-34 overtime victory in 2007 ... RB DEMARCUS ROUSE is looking to become the first PC player with 10 rushing touchdowns in a season since 1978 ... RB LANCE BYRD is eight rushing attempts away from 500 in his career ... LB DONELLE WILLIAMS is third in the Big South with 9.2 tackles per game, and is averaging 9.5 in Big South games ... In Conference games, Presbyterian College ranks first in the Big South with a 38.7 net punting average.


GARDNER-WEBB RUNNIN' BULLDOGS (2-7, 1-3 Big South) at CHARLESTON SOUTHERN BUCCANEERS (4-5, 2-2 Big South) • Buccaneer Field • 1:30pm • ESPN3

THE SERIES:  This is the 12th meeting between the schools.  Gardner-Webb leads the series, 8-3.

BULLDOG BITES:  The Runnin' Bulldogs are averaging 29.0 points and 417 yards of offensive in League play, despite its 1-3 record ... QB LUCAS BEATTY has a League-high four 300-yard passing games this season, the second-highest single-season total in Big South history.  He is 226 passing yards away from 3,000 in his career ... In Big South games, WR KENNY COOK has 23 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns ... RB KENNY LITTLE needs 84 rushing yards to become the 14th player in Big South history with 2,000 in a career.

BUCCANEER BULLETS:  Charleston Southern last defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs in 2008 ... The Buccaneers are looking to win their fourth consecutive home game for the first time since a seven-game home win streak from 2008-09 ... CSU is also in search of its first perfect record in home Big South games since 2008 ... QB MALCOLM DIXON is 26-of-35 passing ( =74.3 percent) for 491 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in his last four games ... Dixon has thrown for and rushed for a TD in the same game four times this season.


The Citadel Bulldogs (5-4, 4-3 SoCon) at VMI KEYDETS (2-7, 1-4 Big South) • Foster Stadium • 1:30pm • Big South Network presented by State Farm

  • This is the 68th meeting between the two schools in the "Military Classic of the South."
  • The Citadel leads the series, 35-30-2, and VMI is looking for its first win in the series since 2002.
  • The Keydets are wrapping up the 2012 season with two home games for the first time since 2004.
  • LB LOGAN STAIB has produced three takeaways this season (2 - FR, 1 - INT) and has five in his career.
  • QB ERIC KORDENBROCK needs two pass completions for 400 in his career.


#6/8 STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES (9-1, 5-0 Big South) at LIBERTY FLAMES (4-5, 3-1 Big South) • Williams Stadium • 3:30pm • MASN, Big South Network presented by State Farm, ESPN3

THE SERIES:  This is the fifth meeting between the schools.  The series is tied 2-2, with the home team winning each time.

SEAWOLF SCOWLS:  The Seawolves can clinch the outright Big South football championship and automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs with a win Saturday ... Stony Brook has won 11-straight Big South games -- the second-longest streak in League history, and has scored 40 points in 10 of the those contests ... SBU's 14.8 scoring defense average is pacing ahead of the Big South season record of 15.6 ... RB MIGUEL MAYSONET is looking to become the first player in Big South history to score a touchdown in all of his team's regular-season games.

FLAMES FACTS:  Liberty's two wins in the series have been by an average of 29.5 points ... The Flames are playing their fourth nationally-ranked opponent of the season ... Liberty carries its Big South-record 17-game  home Big South win streak into Saturday's game.  The Flames have averaged 44.1 points during the streak while holding League members to 18.9 points ... Liberty has held six opponents to less than 125 rushing yards this season ... RBs ALDREAKIS ALLEN and SIRCHAUNCEY HOLLOWAY have each scored 28 career TDs.
