Big South Announces Its Largest Women's Basketball TV Schedule

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference today announced its women's basketball television package for the 2012-13 season will feature six live regular-season Conference games exclusively on ESPN3 as part of a new Saturday "Game of the Week" package beginning in January.  The six are among a total of 20 games involving the Big South that will be broadcast this season - including a League-high 14 regular-season Conference contests.

For the first time, ESPN3 will also be the exclusive home of the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Championship Semifinals and Finals on March 9-10.  The Semifinals will be carried on Saturday, March 9 at 6:00pm and 8:00pm, while the Finals will air live on Sunday, March 10 at 5:00pm.  Below is the Big South's exclusive six-game regular-season television package:

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members.  It is currently available to 73 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.  The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks. 

During the course of the season, Liberty University's Flames Sports Network will televise 11 Liberty women's basketball games as well.  Additional broadcasts/networks may be added to the Conference schedule at a later date, and will be announced when finalized. 

In addition, the Big South Conference will again video stream live all home women's basketball games not televised in 2012-13 on its subscription-based broadband channel, The Big South Network presented by State Farm.  The current television schedule involving the Big South's women's basketball programs appears below:
