CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference and Hardee's® have signed a new corporate sponsorship agreement naming Hardee's as the "Official Quick Service Restaurant" and "Official Chicken Tender Tailgate Partner" of the Big South Conference. The exclusive and comprehensive agreement provides an extensive integrated marketing package designed to increase visibility and to align the chain with Conference teams, fans and alumni.
"Hardee's is proud to be a new partner with the Big South Conference to support our college sports teams across the Southeast," said Tim Weigel, vice president of marketing for Hardee's. "Hardee's has strong roots in the Southeast so we're especially pleased to have the opportunity to invite Big South students, fans and alumni to visit Hardee's to enjoy some of our favorite tastes of the South and to meet them on their own turf during the campus tour."
Hardee's will be recognized as an official sponsor of the Big South Fall Campus Tour that visits all 12 Big South member institutions with the opportunity to interact with students/parents at each member institution through on-site activation. In addition, Hardee's will receive entitlement of a planned men's and women's Conference-wide student body basketball promotion in 2012-13. Hardee's will also be recognized during the Conference's football and basketball television package, as well as recognition on the League's "Audio Roundup," a weekly feature that recaps/previews Big South football and basketball and is syndicated on nearly 50 radio affiliates, and will receive recognition during events on the Big South Network.
"The Hardee's brand got its start in North Carolina and Boddie-Noell calls Rocky Mount home, so we are thrilled to be a part of the Big South Conference," said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Hardee's largest franchisee. "We value and respect high standards of excellence, leadership and teamwork in all our restaurants and also on the playing field. And since many of our restaurants are conveniently located in the communities and neighborhoods of the Big South campuses, fans will be able to take advantage of all the special offers available year-round to Big South supporters.
Hardee's restaurants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia will offer Big South students a free small Natural Cut French Fries and beverage with the purchase of any Thickburger®. The chain will also continue its successful Tender Team Tuesday promotion, which gives fans a five-piece Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders®, small fries and beverage for only $5.
"The Big South Conference is excited to partner with Hardee's," said Big South Conference Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander. "Their brand is well-known for quality and the company is respected in the industry and throughout the Southeast. Hardee's support will go a long way in helping us achieve our goals of Developing Leaders Through Athletics."
